Operation Maroon was the codename for a proposed covert operation by the then Prince of Wales to the British wartime government with the sole aim of rescuing Crown Princess Ingrid of Denmark, wife to the later King Frederick IX of Denmark. Despite initial plannings, the operation was ultimately abandoned.
