Douglas R. Granite is the 30th President of the Federation of Asteria. An outspoken Constitutionalist, Granite played a pivotal role in developing the coalition that would eventually grow into Asteria's National Conservative Party, which ultimately won him the Presidential nomination in 1934. Douglas Granite is unique to the Asterian political sphere due to the fact that he has largely remained an 'outsider', well-known for his staunch opposition to left-leaning radical ideologies like syndicalism, radical socialism, and other forms of totalitarian leftism. He has also developed into somewhat of a national personality, with his fiery speeches advocating the idea of Asterian Exceptionalism.
