Visual Notes

House

Tribal

Tribes are seen as the origin of certain dog breeds, and as such dog breeds are assigned to a tribe. There are seven tribes.

  • Veszprémic
    • The Veszprémic are the first of the seven tribes, living as lowlander Labrador Retrievers. They are adaptive to both highland and lowland, but prefer to keep to lower flatland areas. The largest city that is considered to be the center of Veszprémic society is Balaton. Veszprémic culture revolves around a rejection in technology and special interest in archery. The Veszprémic place a large amount of cultural significance to the act of hunting, especially deer. They are well known for the Veszprémic Archer Dance.

Sio

The Sió are the second of the seven tribes, living as St. Bernards that originated from Csongrád Island on the lake of the same name. They are adaptive to highlander areas as the majority of the area the Sió originated from is fairly mountainous. Sió designate the cultural center as Csongrád Island, but forbid anyone from entering the island and only allow people to enter Csongrád City. Sió culture revolves around the practice of religion and a high regard for nature. The Sió make up the majority of religious figures of the religious organization of the country.

Rédics

The Rédics are the third of the seven tribes, situated between the Sió and the Veszprémic as Great Pyrenees. The Rédics are adapted to both highland and lowland, but are preferential to highlands and situate themselves among hilly areas, specifically the Veszprém-Rédic-Sió Mountain Range. The Rédics are said to have originated from the Hévíz, a culturally significant mineral pond within the mountain range. The Rédic culture take big strides in loyalty to one another and the idea of nobility.

  • Salgoic
    • The Salgoic are the fourth of the seven tribes, living in the north. They live in a generally mountainous area and are the most well adapted to the conditions. The Salgoic are a notably military orientated tribe and are drawn to order.
  • Erdős
    • Erdős are Beagles. Their culture revolves around knowledge and literature.
  • Jenő
    • The Jenő arre the sixth of the seven tribes, living in the south. Considered the architects of cities, the Jenő are mainly responsible for the creation or design of many different cities that are present, most notably Andrássy.
  • Hódítók
    • The Hódítók are the last of the seven tribes, living in the southeast. They live in a hilly area. The Hódítók are German Shephards. The Hódítók have very little notable culture compared to the other tribes due to their comparatively savage nature. The Hódítók are mainly concerned with war and conquest, and are notable for frequently attacking other tribes.

Alignment

There are three variations of alignment:

  • Coalitionist Alignment

Coalitionalist Alignment implies the character is aligned with the Coalition of Noble Houses. Characters like this have their eyes open as a trait.

  • Royalist Alignment

Royalist Alignment implies the character is aligned with either the House of Esterházy or the Royalist Congress. Characters like this have their eyes closed as a trait.

  • Unaligned

Unalignment implies the character is not aligned with either the Coalitionists or Royalists. Characters like this have their eyes half-open as a trait. Unalignment typically means the character has a personal alignment to a certain character or themselves.

General Notes

  • Both Males and Females are viewed as equal within society, and as a result there are many more women in the roles that would normally be filled by men.
    • The only exception to this are the Sió and the Hódítók. The Hódítók are a semi-matriarchial society while the Sió are a semi-patriarchial society.

András the First

  • Name: András Géza Velencei

  • Species: Dog, Beagle.
  • Gender: Male.
  • House: Velencei.
  • Tribe: Erdős.
  • Position: Alispán of Velencei Németújvár.
  • Alignment: Coalitionist.

András Géza Velencei is the main character and the protagonist. András is a young man who holds a distain for politics and the height of his house, the House of Velencei. Initially intent in settling into a lower, almost higher than Polgárság life collecting rare artifacts and literature. He still holds true to the pursuit of the mission of the House of Velencei but refused to hold a title over Ispán. The untimely death of his elder brother Seszták and the murder of his cousin Emerbik had him pushed into the Alispán of Velencei Németújvár, the only Velencei Vármegye that was not held personally by Géza.

  • House: Velencei.
  • Tribe: N/A.
  • Gender: Male.
  • Position: Personal confidante to András.
  • Alignment: Unaligned, personal alignment to András.

Clarence is a main character and the deutertagonist. Clarence is slightly older than András but grew as András's caregiver under the House of Velencei as a request made from Géza III and Beleknegini to Elder Szerafin. Clarence was abandoned and given to the Abbot at Velencei Németújvár as an infant and was cared by Father Márfi. For a while, he was one of the few other permenant inhabitants of the Abbot that was not Father Márfi. While he can write and read the native language, he cannot speak the language and as such remains as a silent deutertagonist to András, mainly relying on gestures and body language to signal disapproval or approval.

Clarence often touches roots with his humble beginning as the student of an abbey, and as such dresses in unassuming clothes and shaves his head frequently as a symbol of his piety. When seen with András by either the Nemesség or the Polgárság, he positions himself as the dexter to András's position.

Clarence is the first and one of the few non-dog characters. His country is implied to be a lowlander of western origin but is never clearly specified. His parents are never mentioned directly and Clarence refers Father Márfi as simply "Father".

The younger brother of Kálmán the First, he killed Kálmán in a bid to rule over the House of Velencei and would later kill his nephew Emerbik in order to secure his lineage's succession as Alispáns.

Beleknegini Velencei-Hegedüs

  • Name: Beleknegini Nehémiás Velencei-Hegedüs
