Circassia (Circassian: Adygej), officially Circassian Federal Republic (Circassian: Adyge Šdixu Respublik), is a country located in Eastern Europe and the Northeastern Black Sea. It is constituted of fourteen states, twelve of them are old Circassian tribes, and two federal cities, Pšykutuapse which is the capital of Circassia and Nikopsagary which is the largest city. It occupies 75,896 square km (29,304 square miles) and it has a population of around 11 million. It borders Cossackia in the north, Chechnya in the west, Georgia, Karachaistan, Balkaria, and Ossetia in the south, and Russia in the northwest.
Today, Circassia is a federal parliamentary republic and a rapidly developing country. It's the second most rapidly developing in the the Caucasus, with 5.3% in 2019 and 5.5% in 2020 despite COVID-19. It ranks 38th in GDP per capita and 36th in World Bank Development Index. Circassia still undergoes a process of urbanization and westernization, nevertheless, it is considered as a flawed democracy and ranks 49th in Democracy Index.
