Important Figures
Miyasaki Tama
Miyasaki Tama was a farm girl in the old city of Kibe. One day she went down to the coast the watch the sun go up and behind her she heard a voice. Miyasaki followed the voice to a cavern that was open on the top so that light could fall in. In the middle of the cavern sat a lake with a giant water lily. She walked to the lily and sat on it to meditate. On that lily she heard the voice again, the voice was the voice of a god. The voice called himself Tanji. Thus, on the water lily, Miyasaki achieved enlightenment with the help of Tanji and she became the first Dōuist.
