AleziRadio Festival of Songs 1970
AleziRadio Festival of Songs 1970 is the thirteeth edition of the annual AleziRadio Festival of Songs. It was held on 16th of May 1970, which meant that the competition returned to its usual date after delays that happened last year. The edition was won by Aridena Marelie representing Daya Island with the song "Kaipaan sinua". This is the first time that Daya Island won the competition. This also marks the first time a territory won the competition, and a second time the winning song was sung in Finnish, which was a minor language.
The competition was held by Radio Pyalivostok after Aziz Goridagyev Novogrody's second victory last year. Pyalivostok had hosted the competition before in 1959, 1962, 1965, and 1968. It was held in Olyben Theatre of Yakovskut, which was, and still is, the second biggest city in Pyalivostok, recording a population of 310,000 as of 1970.
Ha'vot She'asan from last year returned representing Tel Hadiv, and Hasyim Riza returned after representing Zafizamarrah and Isma'il Lasmaruddin representing Basna in 1958.
For the first time since 1967, no case of zero points was recorded. However, Ishana Rusma from Zafizamarrah and Isabella Naovim from Tel Hadiv nearly had to go home pointless, fortunately both songs were saved by a jury. Due to Rusma's last place, this is the first time since 1967 that Zafizamarrah didn't have both of its songs in the "left side of the scoreboard" and in the top 3. And this is the first time that one of Zafizamarrah's songs finished in last place.
Incidents
Pyalivostokgrad Case
Radio Pyalivostok was under fire once again due to its decision to pick Yakovskut as the host of the competition compared to the much more plausible and effective choice of Pyalivostokgrad. Radio Pyalivostok reasoned that the competition is a great ground to introduce otherwise unknown towns in Pyalivostok, and they also said that "At least it's not Yovonyk".
Fortunately, the competition went as planned especially since Yakovskut is located very near to the capital of Pyalivostokgrad itself, and the competition is deemed as successful.
Orchestra Tantrum
Initially, the orchestra of Pyalivostok Philarmonic Orchestra which played the instrumental to all songs in the edition was going to be directed by Nokov Yadreny. However, during rehearsals, Yadreny was not impressed with the orchestra's performance that it angered him and prompted him to break the conducting stick in two. There was speculated to be recorded footage of the happening in ABA's (who nowadays hold all of AleziRadio's old footages) archives. However, since ARFOS was not broadcasted to television audiences (publicly) yet, this footage was yet to be found.
Eventually, Radio Pyalivostok and Pyalivostok Philarmonic Orchesta agreed to kick Yadreny out of the competition due to his "destructive" behaviour, and the conducting job was given to Dershmon Aldenov.

Impact
Aridenna Marelie from Daya Island who won the competition received high positive acclaim in her native Daya Island. After her victory, the government of Daya Island insisted to host the competition in Aaren, even with the poor conditions at the time, where they promised that they'll meet the minimal requirements to host the competition. Aridenna however, went silent after the competition, not releasing any albums or singles, which is a very unusual sight for a winner of AleziRadio Festival of Songs.
The 2nd and 3rd placer in the competition also received positive acclaim in their respective regions.
The opposite happened for Ishana Rusma from Zafizamarrah, who unfortunately earned last place in the competition, earning angry mail from ARFOS listeners of Zafizamarrah, which she said would've been worse should've she earn 0 points at the competition.
