Landersvich, officially the Holy Empire of Landersvich (German: Heiliges Reich von Landersvich), is an European country located in Central_Europe. The nation is directly bordered by Vitolia, Hulm, Rhone Republic, Kychova, Balaton, Kakanj, and Greater Kosovo.

History

The Empire of Landersvich, then the Kingdom of Laitz, started in 1237 in southern Teichalm. The first ruler was Adelwulf of Laitz, a medium-sized trading town in the borderlands. The Kingdom of Laitz grew slowly, benefiting from overland trade between the Mediterranean and Germanic states. The unification of Teichalm did not come until 1558 under the rule of King Nicholas VI. The newly unified Kingdom was renamed to the Kindom of Teichalm. With a newly acquired seaport, the Teichalmian kingdom started to create a vast fleet of naval vessels. It was at this time when the small European kingdom felt like it had power in the affairs of land.

After a succession crisis in the neighboring nation of Vitolia, Teichalm was able to secure land in its northeastern territory, which includes Venice. With the vital trade Mecca under Teichalmian control, the Kingdom started to grow at a tremendous rate.

In the spring of 1899, the Kingdom of Teichlam invaded Kakanj in an attempt to seize much-needed farming land and ports. As a result of the victory, the Kingdom of Teichlam became the Empire of Landervich (Ruling Family name).

During the First world war, a Kosovian assassin murdered Prince Halbern while parading in the nation. Due to the assassination, the Empire attacked Kosovo which led to a greater world conflict. The Empire was defeated but remained intact despite a struggling economy. By 1934, the Empire introduced a constitution which allows for semi-autonomous state rule.

The religious nation is known for its art, music, architecture and free market economics.

Geography

Climate

Temperate, with Alpine mountain ranges to the east.

Environment

Clean and well kept. Alpine mountains to the east, grasslands to the west and south-west, as well as marshland along the southern coast.

Politics and government

The Empire is headed by the Kaiser, who rules alongside the Imperial Council. Each state has a local council that handles most of the public services, tax collection, law enforcement, etc.

Military

The Empire prides itself on a mid-size, well-trained military. All citizens are required to join the Imperial Military Guard (IMG) for 3 years and all citizens, who had served in the IMG can be conscripted later. Local small arms manufacture provide high-quality weapons to the military. Armor, APC’s, SPG’s are considered on par with other European nations. Some of their equipment includes; AUG A1 assault rifle, GRW 86 - 120mm mortar, Z/FIAK 85 AA, Pandur 1 Armored vehicle, K105 A2 SPG (M105A2), and the Leopard 2 MBT.

The Landersvichian Airforce, however, is lacking compared to its European counterparts. With only 120 Multi-role fighters and a handful of transport planes, the nation is seriously considering importing new aerial equipment. The majority of their fighters are made up of the Saab 105 - a sub-par jet.

The Navy of the Empire is relatively large for a Mediterranean nation. The pride and joy of the navy is its new aircraft carrier. They also boast heavy cruisers, missile cruisers, destroyers, and a hand full of other multi-purpose ships.

Foreign relations

The Empire tries to be on good terms with most nations; however, it is deeply suspicious of socialism, communism, and other kinds of Far-Left government. The Empire also has had a tense relationship with Kosovo in the past. Due to the falling apart of the European Council deal between Hulm and the Empire, relations have increasing become or polarized between the EC and Landersvich. The Empire, European Council, and in particular, Hulm, are now in competition for control over their respective spheres. The Empire is fiercely independent and nationalistic - making the European Councils centralized policy a negative attribute of the organization in the eyes of the Kaiser.

The Empire has a good relationship with the Empire of Carpathia, New Prussia, Izmar, the Kingdom of Algiers, the Great Lakes Confederacy, The United Pacific States, Mbale, and the Igbo Republic. They naturally like Kingdoms and Empires; They are neutral about democracies and republics and dislike "true" communist states, such as Balaton and Niagra.

Economy

The nation has a strong economy - a mostly free market. The largest company is a bank which specializes in financial services and investments. The nation has a keen interest in foreign investment, oil, developing nations, and creating financial leverage. The nation has a relatively low amount of tax - mostly coming from income produced from individuals.
