AleziRadio Festival of Songs 1982
AleziRadio Festival of Songs 1982 is the twenty-fifth edition of the annual AleziRadio Festival of Songs. The competition was held as usual in 16th of May 1982 by the authorities of Radio Aramna. This is the second time that Aramna hosted the competition after doing so previously in 1974. The competition went to Aramna after the victory of Isabella Rouvennes with the song "Mr. John" last year.
The competition was held in the city of Las Araminhaes, which is the capital of the region of Aramna itself, and was considered as the rival of Tel Hadiv in the quality of its beaches. Las Araminhaes itself is considered a tourist town, even under limited freedom of travel, with 15,000 people visiting the town around that time. This amount itself was considered as a high number at that time. As of 1982, the population of Las Araminhaes reached 248,000.
The competition's venue was the Laisses Marriennes Theatre located between Rou. Malvesse and Rou. Madalierres on the eastern side of the city. It was built in 1947 with completion in 1954. The venue was renovated in 1966 and expanded in 1979. The venue allows 1,880 people at its maximum capacity. However, the requirement of an orchestra pit and other neccesities for the competitions required the venue to reduce its seats to 1,538. Later after the competition, the building was renovated and expanded again in 1989, 1995, and 2003. The latter renovation also brought the venue a name change to its final and present name which is the "LMTheatre".
This edition, Emilie Souvrais returned to represent Bristol in the festival after earning the unfortunate fate of getting zero points last year. Other than that, Edi Kachinev who represented Pyalivostok earning 7th place in the AleziRadio Festival of Songs 1959 returned to the competition representing that region.
Other than that, it's the first time that a past competitor in the Festival act as the conductor for a region. Hector Sal who represented Bristol in AleziRadio Festival of Songs 1959 earning 4th place returned as a conductor for both Bristolian entries.
And also for the first time is the conductor for a region also competing in the festival as a performer. Sharon Amsheloni conducted both Tel Hadivian entry and performed one of them while conducting it at the same time. To allow this, the camera had to be positioned at the orchestra pit for the entire duration of the song, with the center stage apparently went unused for that specific entry.
This is also the first time that Zafizamarrah sends a song in Buginese, which is considered a minor language at the time.
