Captain Bill Tharen (more commonly known as Ashen Bill) was a Ganjian Golden Age pirate that sailed the seas during 1708-1774. He is known of creating multiple settlements in Ganji Islands, Prawasia, and other countries. Some of those settlements including Szawende, Buju Town, Eter Town and also Manyar, the current capital of Prawasia.

Early life

Nickname

Bill got his nickname from the massive burn scar on the left side of his face. He got it at age 35, when someone threw a firebomb at him during one of his raids on Marl Island. After that incident, he began wearing an eye patch on his left eye due to sensitivity to light. His left eye eventually went blind.

Death

Bill died when he was dropping off his stash of treasure in the North Point Bay at night. He rowed his boat about 1 kilometer off the coast of Northern Port Marlo before stopping to drop his treasure in the water. Since it was nighttime, there was no light besides the moonlight, Bill with his already poor vision couldn't see the tall wave coming at him that capsized his boat. His body rests 24 meters below the surface of the sea alongside his treasure.
