This is a list of Royal Radictistan Navy aircraft squadrons. Naval aircraft squadrons are composed a number of aircraft, ranging from as few as four to as many as half a dozen, pilots, and groundcrew.

Squadron organization

Aircraft squadrons are typically commanded by a Captain, Second Rank with a Captain, Third Rank as executive officer. A squadron is normally divided into four operational departments: Operations, Maintenance, Safety and Compliance, and Staff, each led by a Captain, Third Rank as Department Chief. In reserve squadrons the position of Department Chief is sometimes held by a Captain, Second Rank.

Fixed-wing Squadrons

Fighter

A Fighter Squadron (Radictistani: Jagdstaffel) consists of twenty or twenty-four MiG-29K aircraft. The MiG-29K is a twin-engined multirole fighter used for fleet air defense and ground attack missions.

Attack

An Attack Squadron (Radictistani: Angriffstaffel consists of sixteen Su-25RM aircraft. The Su-25RM is a heavily upgraded version of the Su-25 close air support aircraft.

Anti-submarine

An Anti-submarine Squadron (Radictistani: Unterseebootabwehrstaffel) consists of six Supermarine Sirius AS.2 or S-3 Viking aircraft.

Airborne Early Warning

An Airborne Early Warning Squadron (Radictistani: Luftvorwarnungstaffel consists of six Supermarine Sportsman AEW.2 or E-2C Hawkeye aircraft.

Training

A Primary Training Squadron (Grundausbildungstaffel) provides initial postgraduate flight training in single turboprop aircraft. An Intermediate Training Squadron (Zwischenausbildungstaffel) introduces trainee pilots to jet aircraft and more advanced flying techniques. A Pilot Replacement Squadron (Radictistani: Fliegerersatzstaffel) trains pilots to operate specific operational aircraft types.

Helicopter squadrons

Anti-submarine

An Anti-submarine helicopter squadron (Unterseebootabwehrhelikopterstaffel) consists of up to sixteen Ka-27PL helicopters. Anti-submarine squadrons provide detachments for service on cruisers, destroyers, and frigates or deploy as a whole onboard larger vessels such as aircraft carriers and amphibious assault ships.

Combat search and rescue

A Combat Search and Rescue squadron (Suchundrettungsstaffel) is comprised of five Ka-27PV helicopters. These squadrons provide detachments for service on aircraft carriers.
