Hello, Me was a 2020 television series starring Amelia Ricci and Park Min-Ji. It is noted as the first major role for Amelia Ricci following her popular appearance on Ancestral Guest House in 2019.

History

At the start 2019, the Ministry of Culture posted a statement on their website asking for new drama submissions. Shortly after this announcement Hello, Me? was submitted for review for the Ministry of Culture, the original pitch was initially rejected citing cost concerns, however, it was picked upon again following renewed investment in MBC as part of the 2019 budget process and the last part of the three-year plan.

Synopsis

Hello, Me is focused on Kim Chae-Yeong, a 30-year old MalMart employee who is suffering from a lack of inspiration, having worked a series of odd jobs over the course of their life. At this point the 30-year old Chae-Yeong meets a 17-year old version of herself who appears to be quite the opposite of her present self, as the younger version is quite optimistic, passionate and open about speaking her mind.

Both the 30-year old and 17-year old Chae-Yeong must work together to try and fix this apparent time travel issue, and during the journey work on healing trauma that relates to an incident that took place 13 years ago.

Reception

Hello, Me was praised by local audiences for accurately managing the issues of the Lost Decade while underscoring the present issues faced by Malgravean society, such as mental health struggles and legacy issues from the end of the civil war.
