History of Gotneska

Jump to navigation Jump to search

The History of Gotneska as a unified kingdom began in the 9th century, but historic documents describe the geographic area and the people living there—the Geats—as early as 500 AD. These early documents include the writings of ?? and ??. With the Christianization of the Geats c. 660's AD, it is clear that there existed a kingship. Queen Sarah II can trace her lineage back to the Viking kings ?? and ?? from this time, thus making the Monarchy of Gotneska one of the oldest in Thrismari. The area now known as Gotneska has a rich prehistory, having been populated by several prehistoric cultures and people for about 8,000 years, since the end of the last ice age.

Home Rule Act

The home rule act or commonly called the Pro-Krenyan Treaty, was a document that transferred internal affairs to the Gotneskan people that lived on the mainland. At first the act was seen as a good step forward but by the turn of the century it seemed as the post act days where becoming more and more hostile as two sides had emigrated from it. One side would be know as the Pro-Act or more widely known as the Pro-Krenyan Support aka Loyalties, and the Anti-Act or Independents which by the end of the Great War, would be known as the Gotneskan Revolutionary Forces, short name the GRF.
