Pomerania (German: Pommern), officially the Free State of Pomerania (German: Freistaat Pommern), is a sovereign state located in Central Europe. The nation is bordered in the east by Poland, in the south by Saxony, Lusatia, and Silesia, and in the west by Hesse and Hanover.
The current government of Pomerania was founded in 1990 following the collapse of the communist Pomeranian Democratic Republic (Pommersche Demokratische Republik).
