The Phaethon is an armored personnel carrier produced by Syara. It was introduced in 1996 as a light APC designed for reconnaissance, internal security, military police, and patrolling. The Phaethon can carry 8 dismounts and carries a 12.7mm machine gun, while protected against similar calibers of munitions.
The Phaethon is primarily used by lighter duty forces in the Syaran Commonality Armed Forces and is not typically employed in direct combat with hostile forces. It saw extensive service during the Zemplen Resolution Campaign and the Zemplen War, where it was heavily employed as a recon vehicle for Syaran scouts. Although limited by its size and chassis, the Phaethon has also been modified to carry anti-tank missiles, anti-air artillery, or serve as a command vehicle or for medical duties.
