History of Gotneska

Jump to navigation Jump to search

The History of Gotneska as a unified kingdom began in the 9th century, but historic documents describe the geographic area and the people living there—the Geats—as early as 500 AD. These early documents include the writings of ?? and ??. With the Christianization of the Geats c. 660's AD, it is clear that there existed a kingship. Queen Sarah II can trace her lineage back to the Viking kings ?? and ?? from this time, thus making the Monarchy of Gotneska one of the oldest in Thrismari. The area now known as Gotneska has a rich prehistory, having been populated by several prehistoric cultures and people for about 8,000 years, since the end of the last ice age.

In the spring of 2017, John and a couple other high ranking officals annocned a new bill they where looking to pass sometime later in 2017 or early 2018. The bill would later cause a massive uproar in the Meallángan Countys of Gotneska. Unfoturentian to the king he would die from a unknown health problem in October of that year. And the bill was put on hold.

21st Century

Sarahan Era (2017-Present)

On 10 October 2017, Princess Sarah was crowned Queen of Gotneska after the sudden death of her father. She is the first Queen to rule the nation since it’s founding in 1922 and fist Queen since her 3rd Great Grandmother Peyton II ruled from 1840-1890.

On the 23rd November 2021, Queen Sarah II rejected a bill created by her father in early 2017. This was a massive win for her and the royal family as it hopefully changed the minds of people either that don't know which side to choose or those that where barely on the side of the Referendum. But this is still not over as the Referendum has been schuealed for the 22nd of June 2022. The Referendum will mostly become a major issue in the 2022 Deputy Prime Minister's Race.
