Eisenkuste, officially the Second Republic of the Eisenkuste (Weranian; Die Zweite Republik der Eisenküste), is a sovereign nation located in northern Asteria Inferior. The Eisenkuste is bordered by Satucin to her East. The population of the country are largely concentrated in urban centers along the Acrucian Coastal Plain and on the two major rivers that run down from the mountains in an area known as the Piedmont Plateau. Aside from these industrial centers, much of Eisenkuste is rural and underdeveloped with large national parks and historic sites. The Eisenkuste is a constitutional federal republic with its capital located in Steinhafen, the country's second largest city and the main economic hub and cultural and commercial centre. The Eisenkuste has a separation of powers between its Executive, Judicial and Legislative branches, and is a secular state based upon popular sovereignty.

The Eisenkuste was inhabited a few aboriginal confederations prior to colonization in the mid to late 17th century. Administered as a colonial possession of the Kingdom of Werania, the Eisenkuste only gained independence in 1832, when it formally declared independence from Werania after a long trend of gradually increasing autonomy. This declaration resulted in a drawn out war of independence that ended in 1838 and resulted in the creation of the Republic of the Eisenkuste. The ratification of the first constitution in 1835 led to the formation of a bicameral legislature, now called the Congress. The country became a federation in 1976 following a change in constitution. In 1974 a successful coup spearheaded by General Walter H. Köhler and supported by members of several Gemeindewache units and the Navy defected while most of the national army and air force remained loyal to the Premier. However, General von Hoffstadt restored power to the people in 1975 appointing a provisional government and calling for elections in 1975. The new government then held a constitutional convention which converted the Parliament into a Congress and after a brief military occupation of the mountainous regions where Cooperativist rebels held out against the new government, new Bundesstaats were created to devolve power to Governors throughout the Federation.

Eisenkuste is a member of the Joint Defense Force.
