Hu Wanjing (Chinese: 胡萬景); 07 July 1873 - 2 May 1952) was a Chinese politician, government official and military leader who served as the first President and dictator of the Great Chinese Realm from 1920 until his death in 1952.
Born in Guangjou in Kwangtung province during the late Qing dynasty, Hu was an early member of the Kuomintang (KMT) before defecting to the Han nationalist Hanchudang party in 1915, following the declaration of the Empire of China. He later served as commander of the Hanchu clique, which defeated the Beiyang government and replaced it with the Han nationalist Great Chinese Realm in 1920. He consolidated his power throughout his first term- and by 1926 had emerged as the most powerful man in China, establishing a nationalistic dictatorship which persisted throughout the 1930s until his death in 1952.
