The People's Federal Socialist States of Kaoro, commonly referred to as Socialist Kaoro, was the government of Kaoro from 1972 to 1997. Formed from a military coup d'etat in 1972, it is today historically known as a regime that ruled in terror. Up to 2 million Kaoroi fled the country during the Socialist rule. The Federal system turned into an illusion, with states' autonomy being decreased rapidly.

During the Socialist regime, the Kaoroan economy collapsed, as the government was extremely stubborn in it's poor economic policies.
