The Uyghur Soviet Socialist Republic (), and commonly referred to as the Uyghur SSR, constituent republics of the Soviet Union from 1936 to 1991 in northern Central Asia. It was created on 5 December 1936 from the former Qing province of Xinjiang as the East Turkestan SSR.
