Presidential primaries and caucuses are organized by the Republican-Federalist Party to select the 1,589 pledged delegates to the 2020 Republican-Federalist National Convention to be held on March 11-13 to determine the parties nominee for President of Lithassa in the 2022 Lithassan Presidential Election.
Incumbent president Klaudio Angela, who was the parties nominee in the 2018 election has announced his intention to not run for re-election in 2022.
By January 2021 3 candidates were in the race, including Klaudio Angela at the time, but now it's only two, conservative TV personality and great-grandson of president Appolon Pachis Yiannis Pachis, and senator Alberto Neri, and after the February 25th primaries Pachis was chosen as the parties nominee for President, and retired army officer Emiliano Corsetti was chosen as his vice presidential nomination.
Background
795 delegates are required to secure the nomination, each state is given a certain amount of delegates based on population, in order to win delegates in a state a candidate must win at least 15%. Delegates are awarded based on proportional representation.
