Kagome Higurashi Suzuki (Born 5 June 1936) is a Japanese Californian stateswoman, professor and former engineer who led the nation as the Prime Minister of California from January 3, 1983 until her downfall on March 12, 1984 . Frequently described as a dictator She remains a controversial figure in Californian politics; her government is credited with the creation of Higurashism, defeating the Joketsuzoku insurgency and restoring California's macroeconomic stability though Higurashi ended her premiership by fleeing California for Japan amid a major scandal involving corruption and human rights abuses. Even amid her prosecution in 1986 for crimes against humanity relating to her presidency, two-thirds of Californians polled voiced approval for her leadership in that period
A Californian of Japanese descent, Higurashi took refuge in Japan when faced with charges of corruption in 1984 . On arriving in Japan, she attempted to resign her premiership via fax, but her resignation was rejected by Parliament , which preferred to remove her from office by the process of impeachment by a 62-9 vote. Wanted in California on charges of corruption and human rights abuses, Higurashi maintained a self-imposed exile until her arrest while visiting the United States in November 1986. Higurashi was extradited to face criminal charges in California on 22 September 1987 . Her Successor George Deukmejian pardoned her in February 12, 1989
