Albania (Englisc: Albany; Scots: Alban), officially the Kingdom of England and Scotland, is an island country in north-western Europe, consisting of the Alban kingdoms of England and Scotland, as well as numerous overseas territories outside of Europe. The Kingdom borders Wales to its west, and is otherwise surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean; with the North Sea to the northeast, the Channel of Charlemagne to its south, and the Celtic Sea to the southwest. With an area of 208,188 km2 in Europe, Albania is the largest island country in Europe, and Europe's fourth most populated state with a population of 53.2 million in 2021.
