The prime minister of the Caldan Union is the prime minister of the Crown. The prime minister is the head of government, leads and selects the Cabinet, and provides constitutionally binding advice to the monarch. Prime ministers must command the confidence of the House of Representatives and are constitutionally required to hold a seat as a Member of Parliament as of 2019. Almost inevitably, prime ministers are the leaders of the largest party or coalition in the House of Representatives. Like all members of the Cabinet, prime ministers are appointed to the Queen's Privy Council and styled The Right Honourable. Every prime minister up until Oliver Welton was granted a peerage upon retiring from office. Most are granted simple baronies but Minerva Karamanlis was made Viscountess Kairis, Vincenzo Lacau was made Earl of Mondinion, Francis Richards was made Duke of Narich, and Kevin O'Brien was made Duke of Algha.

The prime minister has an official residence and executive offices at Kilburn House. Kilburn House is also the headquarters of the Prime Minister's Office and the Privy Council Office. Kilburn House, correspondingly, often serves as a metonym for the prime minister and his advisers.

James Calvert is the current prime minister of the Caldan Union. He has served since 17 May 2021.
