Jacob Natua (born 6 September 1968) is an Eosian politician serving as the 7th President of the Eosia Islands since 1997. He also serves as the chairman of the National Movement for Revolution and Democracy party and previously held the position of Vice President of the Eosia Islands from 1994 to 1997.
Born and raised in Turare, Natua studied law and political science at the University of Hawaii. Upon graduation, he returned to the Eosia Islands and joined the Pacific Democratic Party and quickly rose through the ranks. He became Vice President in 1994 serving under David Tellei before launching a coup against him in 1997. Upon seizing power, Natua dissolved all political parties, establishing the NMRD to facilitate one party rule.
In 2018, after two decades of authoritarian rule, protests erupted that eventually escalated into a full-scale civil war in March. Since then, Natua's government has lost control over a significant portion of the country to armed groups aiming to overthrow him. Natua's government has been supported by Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji.
