Dragoș I (Born Pavel Bodgan Sergiu Ivanchenko, 3 May 1025-5 December 1062) famously known as the Bastard Prince was the first Voivode of Mouldania as well as founder of the royal house of Iacobescu. He reigned from 1048 until his death almost 60 years on in 1062. He was born a bastard, the product of an affair between Tsar Illya the Great and an unknown maid, working at the royal palace at the time. He is adored in Moldanovica as he is known as the father of their nation, valiantly winning independence from Tiskaiya and uniting the Moldanian states.

Early Life

Following the birth of Dragoș, he was given a name that didn't follow Tiskaiyan or Moldanian naming coventions, Pavel, so that nobody would make assumptions about the young boy. It was only his mother, and secretly his father Illya, who knew of the birth of the boy and the identity of his real father. He spent his early years 'hiding in plain site' in a small village outside Derazhchiv where he and his mother worked as farmhands at a local farmstead.

It is believed he learned the identity of his father in 1047, the same year he was introduced to his half brother Oleksandr.
