The George Cross is the highest award in the Gallambrian Honours System. The George Cross is the "decoration for according recognition to persons who in the presence of the enemy, perform acts of the most conspicuous gallantry, or daring pre-eminent acts of value or self-sacrifice or display extreme devotion to duty."
The George Cross was created by letters patent signed by George, King of Gallambria, on 20 April 1955. It is listed first on the Gallambrian Order of Wear with precedence over all orders, decorations and medals. The decoration may be awarded to members of the Gallambrian Armed Forces and to other persons determined by the Minister of Defence. A person to whom the George Cross has been awarded is entitled to the post nominals GC placed after the person's name. To date, there has been five George Cross' awarded, including 2 posthumous awards.
