Great Officers of the Empire

The Great Officers of the Empire (Latin: Magna Officialibus Imperii) are the senior most officials in the Empire of Mesogeia. Currently there are twelve great officers of the empire, with the highest being the Grand Magister, and the lowest being the Protokynegos (Grand Master of the Hunt). Several of the great officers of the nation are largely ceremonial and some have been possessed by the same family for centuries.

Keeper of the Imperial Great seal. Bearer of the Crown during Coronations. The holder is also the presiding officer of the Sacred Council, one of the senior advisory bodies of the empire.
Grand Domestic Megas Domestikos	PLACEHOLDER	WIP	Senior officer of the Imperial Army, presently the office denotes the senior military advisor of the Emperor. Bearer the mace of state during coronations. Functions as a kind of chief of staff.
Grand Curopalate Kouropalates	PLACEHOLDER		Overall head of the Imperial Court. Responsible for the administration of the Imperial Court. The Grand Curopalate acts as a curator of the Imperial court, which his name derives. Responsible for the court clergy, court pharmacy, and the service staff, and so on. Bearer of the Orb during coronations.
Grand Praepositus Praepositus sacri cubiculi	PLACEHOLDER	WIP	Head of the Imperial Chamber, the private domain of the Emperor. Responsible for the Emperor's household, imperial private estates, and the imperial collection of art. Controls access to the monarch through the issuing of appointments for audiences, and the granting of imperial warrants. His subordinates handle more of his day-to-day functions. Grand Logothete Megas Logothetes	PLACEHOLDER	WIP	an equivalent to a chief-minister, Originally the office denoted the official responsible for supervising imperial decrees, known as prostagmata and chrysoboulla, acting as a kind of mediator between the Emperor and his subjects. Currently the office is held in commission by the Prime Minister

Grand Master of the Stables Protostrator	PLACEHOLDER	WIP	Originally responsible for the Imperial Stables and the maintenance of the horses. Currently the position is charged with all transportation pertaining to the Emperor and the Imperial court. Bears the sword of state during coronations.
Grand Quaestor Quaestor sacri palatii	PLACEHOLDER	WIP	Responsible for overseeing the justice system in the empire. Senior legal advisor.
Grand Master of the Camp Megas stratopedarchēs	PLACEHOLDER	WIP	Acts as the Emperors chief of staff. A senior military advisor.
Grand Seneschal Megas primmikerios	PLACEHOLDER	WIP	Chief Eunuch of the empire. The senior most position reserved for eunuchs in the empire, the holder is responsible for overseeing the staff of palace eunuchs, functioning as a kind of master of ceremonies. Mesogeia is unique for its continued use of eunuch officials in the palace and government.
