Kenlis is the federal capital of the High Kingdom of Ossoria, the capital of the Kingdom of Kenlis, and the ancestral seat of the Silven dynasty. Kenlis is the largest city in Ossoria with over 4 million inhabitants.
Situated at the mouth of the Sínann River where it empties into the Lenian Sea, Kenlis has always benefitted from its access to both the interior sea and the longest navigable river in Ossoria. Its position allowed the ruling Silven clan to eventually come to dominate their home island and the greater Ossorian Archipelago.

The Caisleán
The Caisleán is the ancestral seat of the Silven dynasty and the official residence of the High Queen of Ossoria. Built atop a volcanic plug, the Caisleán offers a naturally defended position, with at least 50-meter cliffs on all sides. The only approach to the Castle is a causeway which leads from a gate tower at the top of the Mount along the edge of the cliff to a gatehouse at its base. The causeway, gatehouse, and gate tower have been rebuilt over the years to accommodate simultaneous vehicular and foot traffic.
The Caisleán's battlements were built along the cliff edges, with two sets of inner walls built to divide the castle into three separate wards; the Lower Ward, the Middle Ward and the Inner Ward. The Lower Ward is open to the public and houses a museum, archive and the main entrance to the official sections of the complex. The Middle Ward hosts the on-site guard barracks, executive and household offices, and state functionary rooms, VIP apartments, and the main audience hall. The Inner Ward is primarily reserved for the private living spaces the Royal Family.
