Kadavu, officially the Empire of Kadavu (Polynesian: Ka Noho Aupuni o Kauavu), is a island country in Melanesia, part of Oceania in the South Pacific about 1,100 nautical miles (2,000km; 1,300mi) northeast of Yangaea's North Island. Its closest neigbors are the Melanesian Republic to the west and southwest, the Island States of Micronesia to the north, the United Polynesian Islands to the east, and Yangaea to the south. Kadavu is divided into two main archipelagos, the Fijian archipelago, and the Tuvalian archipelago. These two archipelagos are made up of hundreds of smaller islands, many of which are uninhabited, and house the Kadavian population of 774,000. The majority of the population live in the Fijian archipelago, but more and more and migrating to the Tuvalian region. Virtually all gold mined in Kadavu, a staple of the economy, is produced in the south, with sugar plantations and other farms dominating the Tuvalian region. Around 3/4 of Kadavians live on islands' coasts, due to the volcanic terrain making it dificult to develop infrastructure inland.
Kadavu has one of the most developed economies in the Pacific thanks to its abundant forest, mineral, and fish resources. Its currency is the Kadavian Guilder, and its main sources of foreign exchange are its tourism and sugar and gold exports. However, in recent years, the financial sector in Kadavu has boomed and is expected to dominate the countries' GDP in the coming years.

Politics and government
Kadavu is a semi-constitutional monarchy. The Emperor is both the head of state and head of government. Although the Emperor abides by a constitution, he still wields the majority of power in the government. Some minor rights are given to the Lords of the Land, governor-like officials who rule over domains, known as Noble Estates, enfeoffed to them by the Emperor. The power held by the Lords and Ladies of the Land is largely ceremonial, boiling down to performing regional budgeting for public services such as education and public transportation, as well as the collection of taxes from the people. While the populace has no real say in government they are protected by a Bill of Rights that is upheld by the Imperial Court system. Kadavu has no de jure legislative organ, but due to the realities of government functions the Imperial Council has evolved to be one.
Imperial Council
The Imperial Council consists of 100 seats that are held by the Kadavian Noble Houses. Twenty-five seats are picked by the Emperor, and the remaining seventy-five seats are picked by the Noble Houses themselves. While the Emperor technically has the right to revoke any Noble Houses' right to a Council seat, such a move would be against tradition and has only been done before with the issuance of an Imperial Ban, which the Council itself must vote in favor of. Any Noble House that gains the right of a Council seat is further known as a Great Council House, which adds to the prestige of their family. Additionally, the Imperial immediacy that such a seat offers is highly sought after and often ends in elaborate schemes to develop in order for one Noble House to acquire a seat. The Emperor is the Lord Chancellor of the
