Lake Cal Forest is an Ibican Army Corps of Engineers reservoir on the Bailey River, 5 miles (8 km) norhteast of Bethany, West Monroe, Ibica. Cal Forest Dam and the reservoir are both managed by the McAlister District of the Army Corps of Engineers. The reservoir was officially impounded in 1955, and serves to provide flood control for the communities downstream. The lake also functions as a water supply for several of the surrounding communities. Lake Cal Forest is a popular recreational destination.

Fish populations

Lake Cal Forest has been stocked with species of fish intended to improve the utility of the reservoir for recreational fishing. Fish present include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, white bass, catfish, and crappie.

Recreational uses

In addition to maintaining the dam that creates the reservoir, the Army Corps of Engineers maintains recreational facilities at the lake. The largest cluster of facilities is on the south shore of the lake, served by Park Road 4, which connects it to SH 16.
