Apennine, officially the Apennine Republic is a country that primarily consists of the Libecco Peninsula, Sirocco Bay and the islands within the Tramontane Sea. Apennine bordered to the north by Nassau and Vistulzka, and shares a land border with the Maghrebine on the island of Linusa. Apennine is made up of two distinct geographical and cultural areas: Apennine Libecco and Apennine Sirocco. Alongside this, it controls over one-hundred different islands that are located along the Tramontane Sea. Apennine also has various exclaves within Vistulzka alongside the landborder near Sirocco Bay. Apennine is a unitary congressional republic that is held within New Aquila.

Apennine has been defined as one of the most diverse areas within Atalan, and was home to both the Oenotrian Empire within the Libecco Peninsula and Sabeline Confederation within Sirocco Bay. Both of these two were the largest powers during this time that had a major influence over the historical era. The Libecco Peninsula and the Tramontane Sea was home to a plethora of cultural colonies.

During the Early Middle Ages, Apennine went through the Apennine Heroplaven and the Apennine Unification Wars throughout the entirity of the 12th century through the 16th century. Apennine had been historically made up of quarreling city-states and confederal bands. Trade, commerce and banking defined the characteristics that early republics within Apennine lived through. Apennine during this time went through several unification wars between Libecco and Sirocco.
