The Diyamu massacre took place in the city of Diyamu, 18 km west of Dar Al Hamma. It happened in the night from September 4 to September 5 1996, a day after the Dar Salam massacre. The massacre lasted for 1 and a half hour and claimed the lives of 51 persons. People revolted against the terrorists with hunting rifles.
