Oh, My Alezia! or known as "أوه يا أليزيا!" (Arabic), "Oh, Aleziaku!" (Indonesian), "Oh, Mijn Alezie!" (Dutch), "ჩემო ალეზია!" (Georgian), "Ku'u, Alika'ai!" (Alezian) in all five other regional languages of the Alezian Union is the National Anthem of the Alezian Union. It has been the anthem since the reunification of the Alezian Union since 1st of May 2021.

History

Selection of Composer and Lyricist

Even before the revolution in South Alezia happened, in February 2022, underground South Alezian composer and lyricist Henriquez Van Tien and Robert Sweerteejk escaped South Alezian territory (with relative ease due to the minimal supervision of the border by the South Alezian guards at the time) and entered North Alezia to meet with other composers and lyricists who were waiting for them in Metropolitan Zafizamarrah. Each of them were then gathered in the Premiership House in the center of the city. The team was put sitting in front of the four "Founding People" of the Alezian Union; Sa'idah Mahmudaisyah (then Premier of North Alezia, would be Premier of the Alezian Union later), Mahmud Bergen (Chairman of the South Alezian Independence and Resistance Group), Hafif Nashvidze (Governor of Mosin-Nagan Territory), and Marinka Deliana Dadon (Governor of the Northern Pantabang Islands Territory). According to the four, the reason why each people were selected are as follows:

Region Composer Name Reason
North Alezia Andi Robi Idris Novogrody An already well known composer internationally, also Son of Mukhlis Krasnaya Novogrody, a past North Alezian premier who is known to fight for Reunification of Alezia, hence the reason why he launched the 1988 Northern Revolution.
South Alezia Robert Sweeterejk Son of Michael-Douwes Sweeterejk, a South Alezian composer who has written satirical and patriotic songs against the Military Dictatorship that has been popular in the entire Alezian areas, Robert also wrote patriotic songs (the most famous being "Doorsbreekenstad") which are popular in his ARICO.Net account.
Pantabang Islands Navila Hessonite Dadon Daughter of the Native Alezian Tribal Council, Danieuvie Hessonite Dadon. Navila herself is the largest supporter of reunification and has composed various Tribal Songs, most of them mentioned Reunification of the Alika'ai.
Mosin-Nagan Adam Khadarashvili Nephew of Hazari Malikashvili, the mayor of Trishi who helped South Alezians resettle in Mosin-Nagan. Adam is the only one who hasn't released any singles or albums, but is a graduate from Alezian Music Institute.
Region Lyricist Name Reason
North Alezia Idresh Noam-Khaled An already well known lyricist and composer internationally, with his best reputation participating in Worldvision 86, hence making him well known in North Alezia and other regions of the Alezian Union
South Alezia Henriquez van Tien An anti-Hoojvinken poet writer well known around the internet for his blog called "From Maartscharij to Hoelveniegeld" where he posted poets criticizing the dictatorship and advocating for reunification.
Pantabang Islands Navila Hessonite Dadon A lyricist, son of Martinique Dalavi Salem who have advocated for reunification through his lyrics and poems with people remembering him for the repeated sentence of "I hope for one Alezia before I leave Alezia and the world."
Mosin-Nagan Makala Heanashvili Well known book writer, has written books about the possibility of the previously separated Alezia reunifying into one super state, with the most famous example being "Trishi, Zafizamarrah, Bucinnois, Doorsbreeken"

According to Idresh Noam-Khaled, the Founding People wanted the song to be grandeur yet represent a happy ending to the long problematic past of the Alezian Isles, and a happy start to the grandeur future of the Alezian Union. The group were given a briefing about the idea of what the anthem of the Alezian Union should look like. The song and lyrics are to be made neutral and not glorify a specific place (hence why none of the regions was mentioned explicitly), which is another reason why each future region got to send their own composers and lyricists. Another demand is that the song must be able to be sung in the other region's languages without changing too much of its' lyrics and its' meaning.

The nine people were given two months to finish the song's first draft in its' entirety, with the Founding People giving suggestions on which parts to edit. The first draft was completed in 6th of April 2021, with the first listeners being the Founding People plus the nine people working on the songs. The song was then edited further and further until the final version was finished in 18th of April 2021.

Distribution

Unlike other countries who have existed before the Alezian Union, the first time that the anthem was distributed was through the newly made official Alezian Union Government's page in Arico.net in 23rd of April 2021, a week before the Reunification Ceremony of the Alezian Union. The song quickly became the most clicked song for the week, with few comments suggesting that the song be used to represent the Alezian Union in the WorldVision Song Contest, even though it become quickly regarded as a joke.

After the Reunification Ceremony ended, the song itself was released in an album called "The Alezian Union : The Musical Experimental Experience". "Oh, My Alezia" was released there together with "Sweet Alezian Wings", "Alezische Fantastische", "Alezia-Alika'ai", "Martha Maryam Ma'ura", "Meister", "Nenekku Seorang Nederland", "The Will To Alezia", and "Never Apart, Never Anymore". After all the songs, "Oh, My Alezia" would be repeated, but with the song's "Encore Version" which added two stanzas to the song.

Legal Basis

The song "Oh, My Alezia!" is designated as state-owned property which cannot be sold unless by the knowledge of the state. The only instance where the song was sold for profit is where the song and its' encore was put together inside the "The Alezian Union : The Musical Experimental Experience", where the sales of the album shall be used for charity.

Legally, the song is designated as the Alezian Union's national anthem in the national constitution at Title I (National Identity and Sovereignty), Article 2, Paragraph 3.

Alezian law allows for the anthem to be covered, be played in other genres (including famously a rock guitar solo by Hanzira back in the 2021 Alezian Grandamusica ), and for additional lyrics to be made. However, it was limited to "contents that doesn't disrespect the anthem and the lyrics in it") and using the anthem to mock the state could cause the perpretator to be sentenced for "Disrespecting Alezian Identity".

Protocols

In the "Constitutional Details" book that elaborated more on the constitution, it is said that the nation gave the people freedom to play either the shortened one stanza song, or play the full three stanza song. However, for official use (such as flag raisings nationally and/or internationally and state-hold event), only the first stanza shall be used.

In Alezian schools, every Alezian Independence Day, Freedom Day, and Memorial Day at 8:00 AM was to be filled with a ceremony. Students are required to gather outside where as the flag was raised, the first stanza of "Oh, My Alezia!" was to be sung. Should for some reason a flagpole can't be found or climate circumstances made it impossible to hold a ceremony, the flag shall be brought in "no matter how" (instances allowed include presenting the flag on a screen; having the students hold small flags; or in some case shall there be no flag available, have the teacher draw the flag with the crescent and four stars on the board either coloured or not coloured). A similiar protocol was to be used in offices and public transportation in Alezia on the beginning of the day.

In governmental offices (including the Parliament and National Council) and state-owned instutions and corporations, the national anthem shall be played every morning. For public parliamentary and council meetings, the anthem shall be played before and after the meeting proceedings. The same shall be done for court proceedings.

Alezian private television and radio stations shall also play the anthem on Alezian Independence Day, Freedom Day, and Memorial Day at 5:00 WAT/6:00 EAT. While ABA (and AleziRadio) shall play the anthem on those days twice. The first at 5:00 WAT/6:00 EAT, and the second at 17:00 WAT/18:00 EAT.

Lyrics

English Indonesian Dutch

Alezia,
Land of those who Believe (Land of those who Believe)
Alezia,
Spanning mountains and seaports

Happy, United and
Hands joined, infinite love
Even if when the world falls,

Born from a single castle,
Once divided by sea!

The seas won't ever break us
None will separate us
As one, we'll grow, we'll grow.....

Alezia,
United as peaceful (united as peaceful)
Alezia,
Strong her heart and strong her land

Even if the world tests,
The ships will sail onward,
Oh, My Alezia!

Alezia,
Untuk yang percaya (Untuk yang percaya)
Alezia,
Gunungnya dan lautnya,

Bersatu, Bahagia,
Bersatu, S'lamanya
Sampai dunia tiada,

Lahir dari istana,
Laut membaginya!

Tak akan terbelah,
Tak akan terpisah,
Bersatu, tumbuh, tumbuh...

Alezia,
Bersatu dan damai (bersatu dan damai)
Alezia,
Hatinya dan Tanahnya

Meski dunia menguji
Layar mengarungi,
Oh, Aleziaku!

Alezie,
Voor iederen die gelooft
Alezie,
Over bergen en zeehavens

Verenigd, gelukkig,
Verenigd, voor altijd
Tot het einde van de wereld,

Samen uit een groot kasteel,
Verdeeld door de wijde zee!

Nooit meer verdeeld worden
Nooit meer gescheiden
Als één, groei, groei...

Alezie,
Verenigd in vrede (Verenigd in vrede)
Alezie,
Met groot hart en met groot land

Zelfs als de wereld uitdaagt
De schepen varen verder,
Oh, Mijn Alezie!
