The Governate of Tetinsatia, commonly referred to as Tetinsatia or Tetínsȳþ, is a unitary parliamentary republic in Northern Gothis. It is bordered to the south by Andrenne, to the west by the Naesser Sea, and to the northeast by the Great Northern Ocean. Tetinsatia covers an area of 237,776 square kilometers inhabited by an estimate population of 18,380,500. The country comprises of eight subdivisions, with its capital in Linnaburh, located in the southwestern region of the country.

The country's northeastern interior is dominated by Dún Feasce, a large mountain range whose foothills extend into the country's western half and further to Andrenne. As a result, the country largely consists of hilly forestland, broken up by river valleys and temperate plains towards the coast which become warmer further to the southwest of the country.

Tetinsatia home to Tetin, Andrennian, and several other diverse Gotic populations as a result of sitting in the centre of Northern Gotic shipping lanes. The majority of the population adheres to the Courantist, Thaunnica, and indigenous Forecaldīċ faiths. Non-religion has been sharply rising in recent censuses.

Etymology

The etymology of the name Tetinsatia is well attested to be a mercantisation of the indigenous term Tetínsȳþ, first entering the global lexicon in [a date near unification] in documents written by Korovans regarding the expansion of the Ganza in Gothis.

However, the origins of the indigenous term are much more debated. Tetín- is known to originate from the Tetínsbryg tribes which came to dominate the country politically and culturally around [some date after unification]. The suffix -sȳþ has almost no information known about it. The most common, but also far from widely accepted, theory is that the suffix derives from swýþ which is an archaic form of the adjective swíþ. In effect, the term means strong but also immaterial in certain older circumstances and thus, it is suggested that Tetínsȳþ means strong Tetins.

Other scholars believe the suffix derives from the adjective sýþ meaning in a southerly direction and argue this to make more sense in terms of language development and relevance to being the name of a geographic area. However, Tetinsatia is one of the most northerly countries in Gothis and sceptics of this theory are unsure why Tetinsatia would be described as southerly.
