Economy
The jundiboraense economy is a low income state-planned economy in which the public sector comprises almost all the sectors of the economy. The State controls the economy through a program of voluntary collectivization. The private sector exists and comprises a caste of self-employers (Empregados por conta própria or ijeheguiete omba’apo haguã). Most of the population works in the agricultural sector, taking advantage that the soils are very fertile in this part of the world. Coffee, cocoa beans, bananas, sugar cane and tropical fruits are the most important sectors, together with the cattle-farming (cow, pork and birds).
