Yoganian names usually consist of one or more given names and a surname the former of which is usually gender-specific.

Naming laws
There are various laws concerning names in Yogania. A newborn child has to be named within a week of it´s birth or the parents will face a 100€ (106$) fine. They can either pick from a list of 4500 Yoganian names or choose a name themselves. If the go for the latter options they will have to get the name approved and follow these rules: The name has to be at least 3 letters long, and it should not be inappropriate or detrimental to the well-being of the child. It should only contain letters available in the Yoganian alphabet.
