The Merovian Foreign Legion (Audonian: Legion Etrangere Merovienne), also known as the Legion of the World (Audonian: Legion du Monde), or simply as the Legion (Audonian: La Legion), is a formation of the Defense Forces of Merovia. The Legion enjoys a special status in the Merovian military and political system as one of the founding institutions of the modern Merovian Republic. The commander of the Legion serves as the commander-in-chief of the Merovian military and as the head of state of the Republic, a position currently occupied by Herve Bellirose, while a record of service in the Legion stands as a requirement for office in the Merovian Senate. Militarily, the Legion is a corps-strength formation consisting of three divisions blindees, four parachute regiments and the chasseurs regiment.
