The Gniela-class submarine is a class nuclear-powered submarines employed by the Syaran Commonality Navy. The Gniela-class consists of four vessels, the CNS Disciple of Charon, Wrath of Persephone, Vanguard of Hades and the Teeth of Cerberus. The Gniela-class are the only nuclear powered submarines currently employed by Syara.

The Gniela-class initially were introduced at the turn of the millennia, but deteriorating relations with Ruvelka shifted strategic focus away from naval power projection towards land. The Disciple of Charon was launched in 2002, but Wrath of Persephone was not completed until 2007. The outbreak of the Zemplen War resulted in delayed production of the Vanguard of Hades and the Teeth of Cerberus, which were not launched until 2013 and 2016 respectively. Extensive modernization efforts were undertaken between 2014-2018 to bring Disciple of Charon and Wrath of Persephone on board with technological and doctrinal progress. By 2018, the class had completed these efforts and was considered standardized.

Each Gniela-class measures 150 meters long, with a weight of 15,000 tons when submerged. The class is capable of 26 knots when submerged, and 15 when surfaced. Each submarine is powered by a pressurized water reactor providing 200 MW. Apart from food and maintenance requirements, the range and endurance of the class is virtually unlimited. All members of the Gniela-class are capable of firing both ballistic and cruise missiles, with a standard compliment of 12 Aichme strategic ballistic missiles with a range of 4,000 kilometers, and 20 VLS launchers of four Embolon anti-ship missiles each, with an effective firing range of 1,400 kilometers. Both weapon systems are capable of being launched while the submarine is still submerged. An additional four 553 mm torpedo tubes allow for additional anti-ship and anti-submarine defensive capabilities.

Most of the time none of the four classes are out at sea at once, with two usually assigned to fleet operations while the other two are docked. The vessels rotate between the three fleets of the Syaran Commonality Navy.
