Laurein Aerospace, formerly known as Laurein Aircraft Company, is a Meridonian aerospace company that designs, produces, and sells aircraft, rotorcraft, aircraft equipment and avionics, and missiles, in addition to leasing and product support services. It is one of the largest defense contractors in Meridon. Laurein is headquartered in Kohina, Mahine Territory.
Laurein originated as the Laurein Aircraft Company in 1920 by Pierre Laurein. Laurein specialized in heavy and commuter aircraft from its inception, creating the first commercially viable multiengine plane in Meridonian service, and has remained dominant in the Meridonian commercial aviation market for large airliners. Its attempts to enter the small and midsized corporate markets have been rebuffed by more established manufacturers such as Lanceair and TBD.
