The Baltanian Armed Forces (Lithuanian: Baltanijos ginkluotosios pajėgos, Latvian: Baltānijas bruņotie spēki) are the military forces of Baltania. They comprise the Baltanian Land Forces, the Baltanian Navy and the Baltanian Air Force.
History
Organization
The Presidency of Baltania is the commander-in-chief of the Baltanian Armed Forces, according to the Constitution of Baltania. The Ministry of National Defense is directly responsible for the organisation of the defense system, whereby the Chief of Defense (Lithuanian: Gynybos vadas, Latvian: Aizsardzības priekšnieks) is subordinate to the Minister of National Defense. The General Staff of the Armed Forces is responsible for the preparation of defense and mobilization plans.
The Armed Forces comprise the Baltanian Land Forces, Baltanian Air Force, Baltanian Navy, Baltanian Special Operations Command and other units such as the Logistics, Training and Doctrine Command, the Headquarters Battalion and the Military Police. The Special Operations Command and the Military Police are under the direct authority of the Chief of Defense.
