The Holy Empire of Bassiliya maintains select foreign relations with neighboring nations, allied nations, and trade partners. However, the lack of knowledge and contact with nations far beyond her borders limits the ability of the Empire to establish proper relations. Diplomats, when posted, are representatives of the Imperial Court, empowered by the Emperor to negotiate on behalf of the Empire and sign treaties. As such, diplomats in foreign nations are often highly trusted members of the Imperial Court and an appointment carries ennoblement.
