Project 11431 is the official designation of a remodeling of Elatian XXX-class aircraft carriers by the Itayana Navy. Originally conceived as a hybrid aircraft-carrying cruiser, it was intended to give the Elatian Navy a flagship for task forces operating in the hypothetical apocalyptic war against Belfras, as well as a vessel capable of an unconventional aircraft-missile first-strike capability at the onset of said war. Two ships were laid down, but the Elatian Great Famine of 1984-1987 prevented them from being completed.
The second ship in the class was on hold at 40% completion before being purchased in 1996 by the Temple of Yanbango to serve as the future flagship and as an experimental aircraft carrier for the nascent Itayana Navy, as well as a symbol of Itayana rising to international prominence. Extensive remodeling and reconstruction efforts couldn't begin until 2003 due to the lack of funding, and continued for oevr a decade. As such, the design incorporated many changes from experience and expertise accumulated by technical missions of the Temple in Sante Reze and Zacapican.
The only vessel retorfitted to the project entered service in 2015. Unconfirmed reports indicate Temple's willingness to buy the other ship of the class for a retrofit, but so far there has been no official or unofficial comment on the rumors.
