The Iobaray Defence Force, also known as the IDF, comprises the national military forces of Iobaray. Though forms of the military have existed since the 16th century, the current IDF was formed in 1934 after the collapse of the Iobaray empire and the restructuring of its federacy. The Constitution of Iobaray establishes the IDF and defines its role and purpose as, " ... to defend the territory and national interests of Iobaray".
