The Federal Provinces of Amaria (F.P.A. or FPA), commonly known as the Federal Provinces (F.P. or FP) or Amaria, is a country primarily located in Lower Amaria consisting of X states, X major unincorporated territories and X Minor Outlying Islands. It is the world's X-largest country by both land and total area. It shares land borders with X to its north and with X to its south and has maritime borders with the X. With a population of over 320 million, it is the most populous country in Lower Amaria and the X-most populous in the world. The national capital of the Federal Provinces is Hamilton, and its most populous city and principal financial center is New Thornton.
The Federal Provinces government operates as a federal republic and a representative democracy, consisting of three distinct branches. Its national legislature is bicameral, comprising the Popular Assembly, the lower house, and the State Assembly, the upper house, which grants equal representation to each state. Many policy matters are handled at the state or local level, resulting in varying laws across different jurisdictions.
