Nova Zemla, officially the State of Nova Zemla, is a nation in northeastern Europe. It is an island nation with a coast with the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Barents Sea to the west, the Pechora Sea to the southwest, and the Kara Sea to the southeast.

Nova Zemla ranks high in civil liberties and moderately high in HRC-FS human rights. The only issues are limits on protest and poor prison conditions. Political freedom is ranked very high, however all political parties and political advertising are banned. All elections are highly protected to minimise corruption and all citizens are required to vote. The political culture of the country is very active with many candidates for positions and high interest in government.

The Zemlan economy is moderately weak with technology manufacturing, petroleum, and marine farming being its largest markets. Nova Zemla’s economy is one of the fastest growing in the world, exporting to progressively more countries. In the past, Nova Zemla was in the same state as East and West Sevaya Zemla, which initiated a rapid development and diversification of the economy by Governor Mishka Kuznetsov in 2977 which has only continued.

Etymology

Nova Zemla litteraly means "new land" in Shan. It was named in the second millenia by unknown Slavic peoples, likely just calling it new land because it was very large, and very new.
