Early life
Gabriel Daniel Koyama Jr. was born on July 17th, 1993, in Dallas, Texas, the first of two children born to Mari and Gabriel (née González) Koyama. His father is of mostly Spanish descent, while his mother immigrated from Japan to the United States in 1989. He has a younger brother, Ricardo. Koyama Jr. was raised in Peak's Suburban Additon, Dallas. His father notably left his family when Koyama Jr. was eleven years old, the reason being that Koyama Sr. was, in his son's words, "too proud to admit that he couldn't support his family." Koyama Jr. and his younger brother took it upon themselves to help financially support their family in light of their father's absence, both taking up part-time jobs at a young age.
