This is a comprehensive list of political parties in Puramape.

History

Puramape has a multi-party system, which derives from the dominant position the Radical Civic Union counted with during most of the 20th century, sharing power with the opposition Party of National Integration. In the past, the political scene of the country has been heavily shaped by the historical pacts between the three main traditional parties —UCR, PDIN and USC— to prevent the political left to reach power. Social democracy has a long traditional presence in the political spectrum of the country, with a historical presence inside the UCR, which since the 1980s, has moved towards the liberal centre, in a process that analysts consider has shortened the distance with its conservative rival, PDIN.

During the 1990s, most of the political left united under the New Space-FPP umbrella, which became the largest coalition by number of votes, although it won its first premier in 2005. Since then, the political panorama of Puramape has suffered an important fragmentation of the vote.
