The Ecumenes of Azakayana is a federal directorial republic in which the Directorate and the Grand Council share powers on the federal level. The federal government shares sovereignty with the governments of the Ecumenes, the main political units of Azakayana.

The federal government is comprised of two branches: the executive branch, consisting of the Directorate, and the legislative branch, consisting of the Grand Council. Laws on the local, ecumenical, or federal level are ratified by the consensus of 75% of the voting population.

Clan

The clan is the smallest political unit in Azakayanese politics, comprising of several families that are closely-knit and interrelated. The head of a clan is called an Elder, and he is elected from among the heads of each family.
