Sranca, officially the Kingdom of Sranca is a nation in western Europe. It is bordered by Magarsha to the south and Doitlan to the east. It has a coast with the Gulf of Biscay to the west, the Tanian Channel to the northwest, and the North Sea to the north.
Sranca is effectively under the control of Magarsha and risks being annexed. Scranca ranks low for civil liberties and very low for political freedom. Since joining the ESEP, Magarsha’s influence has caused Sranca’s ratings to increasingly decrease and the government to be increasingly ineffective. No civil liberties are respected, no government elections take place, and any opposing political ideologies are banned. Many convicted criminals are sent to Magarsha and most do not return to Sranca.
Sranca’s economy is very weak and relies on Magarsha for it to be stable. The population of Sranca is extremely poor and there has been economic decline for many years. Natural resources are scarce, and therefore agriculture has been the major market. Agriculture in Sranca is all grown in climate controlled green towers. Before Magarsha entered into Sranca, most necessary resources came from elsewhere in Europe.
Etymology
Sranca was likely a combination of the old Spanish and French names for Spain and France combined. Since the names for each country was so similar, it is unclear how the name came to be. Sranca has characteristics of the Spanish España and Francia and the French Espagne and France.
