Colensay is the sixth-largest city in the Pian Islands with a population of 119,232. The city was devastated by the Konkurso Gulf earthquake and tsunami in 2023, resulting in much of the city's structures being destroyed and nearly 7,000 of the city's residents killed. The tsunami waters had reached at least 37.9 meters (124 ft) above sea level, and some of the most iconic footage of disaster repeatedly broadcast worldwide was shot in Colensay.
